Join the Herd in Montana

FOUR PAWS is proud to partner with The Great Elephant Migration: A Coexistence Story, a public art installation organized by Elephant Family, a U.S. and U.K.-based nonprofit. The U.S. phase of the traveling exhibit features 100 life-sized elephant sculptures that will “migrate” over 3,500 miles across the U.S. through the summer of 2025, intending to raise millions for animal welfare efforts around the world.

This June, part of the herd will stop in Blackfeet Nation, Buffalo Spirit Hills Ranch in Browning, Montana from Wednesday, June 4, to Monday, June 16. At this very special exhibit, they will be a part of the 5th Annual Iinnii Days (June 4th-6th) - a beautiful, community-led celebration honoring their buffalo cousins and the powerful bond between matriarchs. Find out more about these special community days below.

About the Exhibit

The sculptures are crafted by indigenous artisans from India; each elephant is twinned with a conservation NGO, whose work directly benefits from the proceeds of their sculpture sales. The sculptures are meant to represent the importance of peaceful coexistence with animals while highlighting issues like human-elephant interactions.

Each sculpture is for sale, with profits benefiting more than 20 NGOs supporting remarkable people around the world who have found ways to live alongside lions, leopards, elephants, and some of the planet’s most challenging animals.

One of the elephants represents Madhubala whom FOUR PAWS reunited with her sisters in Pakistan in 2024.
