Be Their Voice Campaign
The problem?
Lambs suffer every day brutal farming practice called called Live Lamb Cutting” (also known as mulesing).
Live Lamb Cutting (LLC) involves a substantial cutting off of young lambs’ buttocks skin without adequate pain management. FOUR PAWS estimates that 10 million suffer from this brutal practice.
80 per cent of the fine merino wool for the global fashion market comes from Australia - the only country in the world where live lamb cutting is legally and commonly practiced.

The solution?
"Be Their Voice": A groundbreaking FOUR PAWS campaign bringing together creative film and activism, celebrities and influencers, towards an ultimate goal: A ban on live lamb cutting in Australia by 2030. FOUR PAWS aims to accomplish this public awareness and pressure, fashion brand commitments and policymaker engagement.
The Australian wool industry made a promise 20 years ago (in 2004) to phase out the cruel procedure of live lamb cutting but has failed to act and abandoned their commitment one year before the deadline. Had they kept their commitment, an estimated 140 million lambs could have been spared this brutal procedure. Enough is enough! With alternatives available, live lamb cutting has no place in a compassionate modern society. The industry and Australian government need to ban this cruelty and enable a transition towards available alternatives by 2030.
