Big Cats

Learn how your donation supports our work around the world

FOUR PAWS believes that big cats should not be kept as pets or for entertainment. Globally, thousands of big cats are held in inappropriate keeping conditions in private residences, zoos, circuses, and cub petting facilities. We call for the improvement of legal standards regarding keeping conditions in certified zoological facilities and sanctuaries and demands a ban on other forms of captivity.

Our big cat sanctuaries and centers offer rescued big cats a species-appropriate home. Our staff and special care unit helps traumatized big cats such recover, both mentally and physically, so that these deserving animals can live out the rest of their lives in peace.
